Vegan Food Hacks You Need to Know

  • Make delicious vegan whipped cream by keeping your coconut milk in the fridge and simply whipping it up like regular whipped cream

  • Heat up your dairy free milk before putting it in your coffee – non-dairy milk can curdle in coffee, but heating it up will prevent this from happening

  • Need buttermilk? Just add vinegar or lemon to dairy free milk

  • Use avocado as a butter alternative during baking – just mash it up

  • Instead of using eggs in cooking, use substitutes such as mashed banana, chia seeds mixed with water, applesauce, peanut butter, or corn starch mixed with water

  • Make your own vegan honey by mixing ¼ cups of granulated sugar with 1/3 cup of water

  • Use chickpea flour – it’s very versatile, high in protein, and gluten free. Mix it with ingredients such as milk, beer, or water to use for chickpea omelettes, French toast, or egg replacements

  • Make vegan ice cream by storing ripe/overripe bananas in the freezer, then blending them in a blender or mushing them up with manual utensils. Too easy!

  • Get some applesauce in your kitchen – it’s a great replacement for butter, eggs, oil, and other forms of fat
